Our client is a market leader and global brand who specialise in the design and implementation of specialist air flow systems. With a range of leading clients across most UK universities, hospitals and biomedical research facilities, they are hugely customer centric and are experiencing a huge phase of growth. They are looking for a 3D CAD Technician to be based out of their Rushden headquarters. As their 3D CAD Technician, you'll be based within the Projects Department and will support both the Sales and the Project Teams to fulfil the drawing requirements of the business in both 2D and 3D formats. Due to the nature of the work and the team set up, this role will be based out of the Rushden offices Monday to Friday.
3D CAD Technician – Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the drawings folders and CAD block templates to make files available for the Sales and Projects teams
- Assess and action feedback from Product Specialists, Account Managers and Projects team
- Produce 3D and 2D layouts with CAD and Revit, for key opportunities pre-sales and for projects post sales in accordance with client and main contractor requirements
- Maintain and manager drawings issue logs, ensuring all are correct and up to date
- Produce visualisations for use with virtual reality headsets or panoramic walkarounds to promote products at marketing events
- Ensure 3D environments created are in line with agreed text
- Liaise with architects, consultants and constructors ensuring compliance with ISO19650/BS 1192 working standards
- Liaise with Italian colleagues to maintain corporate standards for all designs and provide feedback to Italy regarding our market requirements, specifically in relation to the BIM standards
- Collect and collate all relevant Revit files into the Revit portfolio folders, for all product lines and other applicable architectural items required for layout drawings
- Production of graphic materials for marketing purposes, working with the Marketing Manager
3D CAD Technician – Required Skills
- Previous first role experience, or a design graduate with some 2D and 3D experience
- Strong communication skills, to work with a range of stakeholders
- Able to advise and assist within technical meetings
- An interest or any experience in project management is advantageous although not essential
- Previous Revit software or BIM (Building Information Modelling) experience would be advantageous
