As a Application Support Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Finance Risk Data and Controls Ref Data Party Reference Data team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role. Job responsibilities Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting Manage Production — Application & Infrastructure Responsible for triaging and escalating any production issue affecting outages per procedures. Provide support for end users by having in-depth knowledge of application and the integrations to downstream systems. Troubleshoots priority incidents, facilitates blameless post-mortems, and supports solutions for closure Identify and enact process and technical improvements including automation Applies analytics on past data, like incidents and usage patterns for predicting issues and takes proactive actions Defines and drives adoption of end to end application or service monitoring incorporating noiseless alerting with proper telemetry Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience Multiple years of industry experience is required within Production Support, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering Skills required: Unix/Linux, Sybase/Oracle SQL, Shell Scripting, Python Experience in Monitoring tools like ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics, Splunk and Grafana Experience in supporting Web based applications (WebSphere, Apache Tomcat). Experience with CTRL-M/CA Autosys scheduler, and knowledge on any ETL tool like Pentaho Experience in Agile development methodologies and tools including Jira and BitBucket Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages (Java), plus an interest in learning other coding languages and skills as needed Understanding in managing operations leveraging key event streaming, messaging, and MQ/Kafka, RDS, etc. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Familiarity with modern front-end technologies Exposure to cloud technologies
