Tailored Recruitment Consultancy are recruiting for a Technical Manager in the Meat Industry for a thriving business in Leeds.\n\nResponsibilitie\n\nManaging the quality and food safety systems across the whole\ncompany ensuring all processes are meeting their legal requirements.\n\nThis will involve working withall departments to ensure that hygiene and food safety standards are adhered to.\n\nAuditing processes and staff activities to assess how well quality systems are being implemented and providing feedback on staff training requirements as and when necessary.\n\nKeeping up to date with food industry regulations and implementing these as required into the business.\n\nWhilst your main responsibility will be based on the company quality\nand food safety standards you will also be responsible for company hygiene management and working with third party laboratories.\n\nResponsibilities will also include:\n• Directing the company’s quality management system to ensure compliance with industry standards such as HACCP, Red Tractor and BRC\n• Reviewing existing policies and planning how to improve quality management systems\n• Working with managers and foremen to ensure competency amongst staff and identify and support training requirements\n• Managing company hygiene, quality and laboratory activities\n• Working closely with company management, suppliers and customers\n• Ensuring factory equipment is properly calibrated to meet legal requirements\n• Performing regular routine audits and carrying out stress testing to assess for weaknesses within the company processes\n• Collecting samples for laboratory assessments\n• Carrying out spot checks on the processing line, reviewing product labelling, packaging quality etc.\n\nWhat’s expected of me:\n\nYou will need to be able to work well with all members of staff and provide\nclear direction on company policies. You will need to be able to identify training requirements and provide appropriate resources for effective learning.\n\nYou will need to be flexible in your day to day activities to allow for ad hoc projects and to support any problems identified on the line, customercomplaints, non-conformances etc.\n\nYou will have a sound awareness and knowledge of the legislation related to the business activities and be able to advise company managementaccordingly
