Management Accountant Location: Harwich Job Type: Full-time Salary: Competitive and negotiable, dependent on experience An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a leading brand in the UK Transport industry. Based in Harwich, you will be an integral part of the Finance team, playing a pivotal role in financial and accounting processes, and ensuring the smooth operation of financial activities within the company. Day-to-day of the role: Prepare monthly Trial balance and support in the preparation of management accounts to strict deadlines. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and cashbook reconciliations, handling non-trade and foreign currency payments. Manage month-end journals and support Sales and Purchase ledger operations. Oversee two employees to ensure they meet their targets and deadlines. Handle complete monthly payroll, support weekly payroll tasks, and manage year-end returns and P11D’s. Develop internal and external KPIs and handle ONS returns. Prepare VAT returns for the UK and Ireland and report on weekly cash flow. Support audit, statutory accounts, and corporation tax processes. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and benchmarking processes. Analyse revenue, costs, and project spend to support the management team. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Required Skills & Qualifications: AAT qualified with training support for CIMA/ACCA. At least 3 years of experience within a financial environment. Strong experience in Management reporting and financial analysis. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables, etc.).
