Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing mechanical operations, ensuring that all equipment is maintained and repaired efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of schematics and the ability to use various hand and power tools. The Lead Mechanic will also provide exceptional customer service while leading a team of mechanics in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
2. Read and interpret schematics to diagnose issues accurately.
3. Use hand tools and power tools for assembly, fabrication, and repair tasks.
4. Perform soldering tasks as needed for equipment repairs.
5. Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify potential problems before they escalate.
6. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
7. Assist in heavy lifting and moving of equipment as required.
8. Train and mentor junior mechanics, providing guidance on best practices in equipment repair and maintenance.
9. Deliver excellent customer service by addressing client concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as a mechanic with a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
2. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals.
3. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and soldering techniques.
4. Ability to fabricate parts as necessary for repairs.
5. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
7. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
8. A valid driver's licence is required to attend breakdowns.
