Job Title: Roofer
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. This role involves working with various roofing materials, ensuring safety standards are met, and delivering high-quality results that protect structures from water damage.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install, repair, and replace roofs on buildings, including shingles, metal, tiles, flat roofs, and other materials.
2. Inspect and assess roof conditions to identify necessary repairs or replacements.
3. Measure and cut roofing materials to fit specific dimensions and roof designs.
4. Apply roofing materials, such as tar, asphalt, or waterproof coatings, to protect the structure.
5. Install insulation, flashing, and ventilation systems to enhance roof durability and performance.
6. Use tools and machinery like ladders, scaffolds, hammers, drills, and nail guns safely and efficiently.
7. Ensure proper sealing, alignment, and waterproofing to prevent leaks.
8. Perform routine maintenance on roofing systems, including clearing debris and checking for wear and tear.
9. Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents, including using safety harnesses, ropes, and fall protection.
10. Collaborate with other construction team members, such as carpenters and electricians, to complete projects.
11. Document project progress and report to supervisors or project managers.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a roofer.
2. Strong knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and safety standards.
3. Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
4. Physical stamina and strength to carry heavy materials and work long hours.
5. Good communication skills to work with team members and clients.
6. Attention to detail and quality control.
7. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
Preferred Skills:
1. Experience with specialized roofing techniques (e.g., slate roofing, green roofing).
2. Familiarity with roofing tools and technology (e.g., infrared scanners for roof inspection).
3. Certification in roofing or safety training (e.g., OSHA certification).
Working Conditions:
1. Outdoor work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
2. Potential for irregular hours depending on project timelines.
3. Physical work, requiring standing, lifting, bending, and climbing for extended periods.

Compensation varies based on experience.

Pay: £179.59-£188.76 per day
