Overview
Responsible for assisting the Manager of Mortgage Loan Servicing in planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Mortgage Loan Servicing Collection Personnel. Oversees daily operations, maintains policy and procedure manuals, and coordinates computer system administration. Ensures that loan servicing collection operations are in accordance with established policies, procedures, and legal requirements, and result in maximum volume, appropriate profit, and minimum delinquency ratios. Assists in training, directing and appraising assigned personnel. Ensures that services are delivered professionally and efficiently, and that members' problems are resolved promptly.
Responsibilities
1. Assumes responsibility for assisting in ensuring the effective and efficient completion of Mortgage Loan Servicing Collection functions.
1. Oversees daily Mortgage Servicing Collection activities. Monitors and evaluates work quality, efficiency, and productivity. Ensures that optimal efficiency is maintained in department activities.
2. Coordinates computer system administration. Ensures that information is effectively transferred from the Department to investors, imaging, records, and accounting personnel as needed.
3. Tracks work flow and ensures that deadlines are met.
4. Assists in coordinating, scheduling, and directing Department functions.
5. Ensures that collection functions are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures and related regulatory and legal requirements.
6. Assists with complex loan servicing collection functions as necessary.
7. Assists the Mortgage Loan Servicing Manager in Department functions, planning, and decision making.
2. Effectively assists in supervising Mortgage Servicing Collection personnel, ensuring optimal performance.
1. Provides leadership to personnel through effective objective setting, delegation, communication and continuous training. Conducts staff meetings and informs personnel of policy and procedure changes and updates from the investors.
2. Coordinates the training of Mortgage Servicing Collection personnel. Ensures that personnel are effective and optimally used. Identifies training needs and develops appropriate training programs.
3. Ensures that staffing levels are appropriate and job duties are well aligned. Assists in interviewing and hiring personnel as needed.
4. Assists in formulating and implementing corrective actions as requested.
5. Assists, supports, and serves personnel as needed.
3. Assumes responsibility for ensuring that professional business relations exist with members, vendors, and trade professionals.
1. Ensures that members' requests and questions are promptly and courteously resolved.
2. Ensures that members are properly informed of Credit Union loan policies and procedures.
3. Ensures that the Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained both internally and externally.
4. Represents the Credit Union in contacts with business and trade professionals.
5. Ensures that secondary market investors are well supported in Credit Union transactions.
4. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
1. Ensures that work areas are clean, secure, and well-maintained.
2. Stays informed regarding developments and changes in the credit field.
Qualifications
Training/Education/Certification:
* High school graduate or equivalent.
* Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related area is preferred.
Required Knowledge:
* Knowledge of Credit Union Collection policies and applicable procedures and standards.
* Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and other investor requirements and guidelines.
* Knowledge of mortgage loan collection procedures and related laws and regulations.
* Understanding of U.S. Bankruptcy Code and foreclosure processes.
* Knowledge of related computer applications.
Experience Required:
* Five to ten years of progressive experience in collections with a full-service financial institution.
* At least two years of previous supervisory experience.
