Role Summary
Tritech Group are manufacturing experts and suppliers of precision products to global Aerospace & Defence industry giants. To support our rapid growth, we are recruiting for a range of positions across our UK facilities.
The Production Planner is responsible for organising production according to demand and quality standards. They ensure that production processes are optimised for efficiency and cost-effectiveness while meeting customer requirements. This role involves planning and scheduling production activities, managing inventory levels, and coordinating with various departments to achieve production goals.
The employee will willingly undertake, upon request, any other task they are able to perform. Elements of the role may vary as new technology, procedures, and equipment are introduced.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demands.
2. Determine equipment and raw material needs based on production forecasts.
3. Monitor production progress and adjust as needed to meet deadlines.
4. Manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available for production without overstocking.
5. Coordinate with the procurement team to order materials as needed.
6. Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accuracy.
7. Collaborate with the production, procurement, and sales teams to align production schedules with customer orders.
8. Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
9. Provide updates on production status to relevant stakeholders.
10. Identify opportunities to improve production processes and reduce costs.
11. Implement best practices in production planning and scheduling.
12. Analyse production data to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
13. Ensure that production processes comply with quality standards.
14. Work with the quality control team to address any production issues.
15. Maintain accurate records of production schedules, inventory levels, and production performance.
16. Prepare reports on production status and performance metrics.
Person Specification:
* Proven experience as a Production Planner or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience with production planning software and ERP systems.
Skills and Competencies:
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
* Planning within an Engineering manufacturing environment is essential.
* Experience in planning tools & Excel is essential.
* Experienced with ERP/MRP Systems is essential in a Production Planning role – Engineering or Manufacturing.
Industry Knowledge:
* Knowledge of Aerospace operators is desirable.
* Ideally from a manufacturing/engineering background.
Package on Offer:
Salary: £25,000 - £33,000 DOE
Pension: 5% min personal contribution, Company contribution of 3%
Annual Leave: 25 days plus 8 BH (Pro-rata)
Life Insurance: 2 x annual salary Death in Service
