About the nursery
Spring Leiston, nestled within the children centre, is a nurturing environment registered for 49 children providing quality childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Our dedicated staff are not only caring and compassionate but also create a warm and friendly atmosphere tailored to meet each child's individual needs.
We prioritise building strong partnerships with families, ensuring we learn as much as possible by each child to support their development effectively. A unique aspect of our nursery is our focus on cookery which is integrated into our core ethics. We believe in teaching children how to nourish themselves and take care of their well-being, fosters a sense of independence and responsibility from a young age.
A bit about the Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the nursery manager in the day-to-day operations of the nursery. Your responsibilities will include overseeing staff, ensuring high quality care and education for the children, and creating a nurturing environment that promotes learning through play. You will also be involved in developing and implementing engaging programmes, managing staff performance, and building strong relationships with parents and the local community.
As a Deputy Manager you'll gain valuable hands-on experience in nursery operations, staff management and curriculum development. This role is designed to prepare you for the next step in your career, equipping you with the skills needed to transition smoothly into a manager position.

What we need from you
Our successful candidate will have an enthusiastic and pro-active mindset with a positive attitude and have the ability to assist in leading a team to form strong and supportive relationships with the parents, children and the team. Our Job Description outlines the requirements of the role, but the 'must haves' are:
* Minimum level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years.
* Leadership or management experience, in a childcare setting.
* Experience of working in a senior role within a nursery setting or centre working with children aged 0 to 5 years and their families.
* Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, Ofsted requirements and relevant current legislation.
* Understanding of child protection processes, safeguarding and working with vulnerable children.
* Commitment to inclusive and non-discriminatory working practice with children, families, colleagues and the community.
