Title: Mechanical Workshop Technician
Location: Kempson, Bedford (Worldwide Travel)
Hours: Monday - Friday Full-Time (37 hours per week)
Salary: £40,000 per annum

The Role:
As a key member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Mechanical Technician will be responsible for undertaking a diverse range of tasks in the design, assembly, testing, and development of high-precision special purpose machinery and test equipment at the site in Bedfordshire. Additionally, this role will require the individual to travel to customer sites worldwide to perform machine installation, upgrade, and maintenance support tasks.
You will deliver new machine builds and R&D projects in line with the scheduled timeline and will liaise effectively with project teams on a technical level. This will include understanding of machine calibration methods and adjustments (e.g. laser alignment, talyvels, straight edges, etc.) and an In-depth knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and drawings, and the ability to interpret and assemble to drawing, and fault find.
When visiting customer sites, you will complete regular reports, timesheets, and other documentation as required. Additionally, you will work closely with the team to identify practical ways to continuously improve the services provided to our customers.

1. Possess extensive experience in the machine tool industry.
2. Hold a relevant qualification in a mechanical engineering (e.g. HNC/HND, C&G, BTEC, or higher)
3. Ability to develop effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and customers.
4. Utilise logical and methodical problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
5. Proficient in basic software applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
6. Hold a full UK driving licence and a valid passport to enable travel to customer sites in the UK and overseas.
7. Previous experience working with precision equipment such as milling machines, lathes or surface grinders.
