Duties: Harvey Norman is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic HR Apprentice to join our retail team. As an HR Apprentice, you will work closely with the HR team to support the daily operations and contribute to a positive workplace culture. You will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, training, performance management, and compliance with HR policies and procedures. Apprenticeship Summary: Salary: £6.40 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19 year olds Working Week: Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm with a 1 hour lunch break Hours: 37.5 hours per week Duration: 20 months Online apprenticeship training supported by our skilled tutors Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship standard qualification Locations: 62A The Parade, Gracechurch Shopping Centre, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, B72 1PD Assist with recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination. Help onboard new employees, ensuring they have a smooth and welcoming experience. Maintain and update employee records and HR databases. Provide support in training and development programs, including scheduling and tracking attendance. Assist with payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Help with employee engagement activities and ensure a positive employee experience. Support the HR team in managing employee relations and resolving workplace issues. Assist with compliance checks, including adherence to health and safety regulations and labour laws. Participate in performance management processes and support managers with performance reviews. Assist with the preparation of HR reports and documentation. Key Requirements: A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources within the retail industry. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Proactive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Basic knowledge of HR practices is advantageous but not essential. Previous experience in retail or customer service is a plus. A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
