Project Worker - Creative Aid
Nepacs is a regional charity that supports positive futures for prisoners and their families.
Nepacs, in partnership with Blue Cabin, has received funding from The National Lottery to support care-experienced young men in HMPYOI Deerbolt explore what it means to be creative, sample different arts and mediums, including the opportunity to gain Arts Award qualifications.
This exciting 3-year project, Creative Aid, which began in January 2023, works with young men aged between 18 and 25 years of age currently residing in HMPYOI Deerbolt and identify as care experienced.
The Project Worker role identifies suitable candidates for the project, including those that would like to work towards an Arts Award. The project uses coproduction methods and works with the young men to identify what arts and creative mediums they would like to explore, and commissions artists to work on the project.
The project seeks to hold events, showcase work from the young men, and host a range of visiting artists. Evaluation is an essential aspect of the project, and an independent evaluation has been commissioned to capture the learning and outcomes.
All applicants will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience of working with care-experienced individuals, and be committed to multi-agency working. This contract is fixed term and is subject to Prison Service vetting, DBS checks, and pre-employment checks.
