The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Procurement Analyst for Molding in the Americas, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Procurement Sub-Category Analyst:
1. Serves as the Tapes, Abrasives and Film FG Category commercial point of contact for Third Party Vendors in APAC, EMEA, Americas
Works closely across 3M Businesses & Divisions to align on best supplier fit for a product
Responsible for following sourcing policies and best practices, while helping 3M and the Procurement organization meet its cost savings, growth and working capital goals by leading negotiations and managing day to day supplier relationships and activities.
Researches and understands the short- and long-term market outlook for assigned raw materials and feedstocks
Minimizes the total product cost by initiating cost reduction efforts and facilitating implementation of innovative sourcing best practices.
Drives Should Cost Model as appropriate.
Strategy Execution & Process Improvement:
2. Identifies, leads & implements solutions to price negotiation/inflation mitigation, category strategy, supplier management, and external sources of supply.
3. Determines & leads opportunities for supplier consolidation, process improvements that improve service, speed or cost, through analysis of sourcing information & metrics
4. Develops partnerships with suppliers and internal 3M stakeholders, including Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain Operations.
5. Drives Cash Improvement in accordance with Global Policy
Contracting Ownership:
6. Leads simple contract negotiations, working in tandem with 3M Division stakeholders and 3M Legal.
This role supports Divisions across 3M, giving the successful candidate broad exposure to 3M’s diverse businesses & products.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
7. Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
8. Minimum two (2) years of Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering and/or Manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
9. Experience in Purchasing/Procurement
10. Negotiation skills and attention to detail
11. Initiative, self-starter with a positive & pro-active approach
12. Fluent in English (written and verbal)
13. Korean OR Japanese OR Chinese is an advantage
14. Project Management Skills
15. Financial acumen and comfort with conducting business analytics
