Welfare & Safeguarding Officer
Taunton Deane Partnership College (TDPC) is one of four Pupil Referral Units commissioned by Somerset Council and Somerset schools, covering Taunton, Wellington and Wiveliscombe. We work alongside students (5-16 years) in several ways: those who have an EHCP naming us as their school; students with medical needs that inhibit their access to mainstream settings; those who have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school and in partnership with schools through our Centres and in Outreach.
We wish to make the following appointment:
Welfare & Safeguarding Officer
* 37 hours per week, term time plus INSET Days (39 weeks per year), permanent
* Start date: As soon as possible
* Salary: Grade 12 (actual salary range £24,047 - £26,959)
We are looking to appoint a Welfare & Safeguarding Officer to support the work of the Safeguarding Team. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to develop this new role and to make a difference to children in our service. You will join a highly motivated and rigorous Safeguarding Team who are committed to achieving the best outcomes for our children and families.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has a working knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and Special Education Needs and how it applies in a school context
* Has excellent administration and time management skills coupled with experience of working with children and young people and their parents/carers
* Is confident, resilient, and dependable and is committed to high-quality support for young people
* Is organised and hard-working – willing and able to go the extra mile.
