Business Apprenticeship
Marshall has been training apprentices for over 100 years and we are committed to the development of future talent. If you want the opportunity to become part of this exciting business and help to shape its future, then this Business Apprenticeship programme is for you.
Not only will you receive fully funded qualifications, but you will also get real-world, hands-on experience of working in an aerospace engineering environment.
The Apprenticeship
Your apprenticeship will be delivered by one of our partner training providers. As a Business Apprentice, you will be following the Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship Standard.
More information on this standard can be found on the institute for apprenticeships website. You will gain the following qualifications and experience during the 4-year programme:
1. Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace & Aviation Engineering (competence qualification)
2. Level 6 Management degree
As part of our apprenticeship programme, the Level 2 diploma is additional to the degree included in the apprenticeship. This will enable you to complete the basic hand skills training undertaken by our Aircraft Fitter apprentices and will give you an understanding of what is involved in maintaining an aircraft.
You will work towards developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required through a range of workshop training, classroom sessions, and on-the-job learning. Not only will you develop your technical skills, but you will also develop the behaviours needed to set the foundation for your future career. You will be supported every step of the way by our instructors, mentors, line managers, and fellow apprentices.
Our Business Apprenticeship will give a unique insight into the various supporting functions within Marshall. By the end of this programme, you will be ready to continue onto the next stage of your career in a part of the business that you have experienced. Our Business Apprenticeship covers potential experiences in:
1. Commercial: Liaise with Marshall customers and stakeholders to ensure the correct commercial agreements are in place to support our contractual commitments and deliver on our overall business objectives.
2. Procurement & Supply Chain: Manage our business relationships with our Suppliers both UK and International to gain experience in subcontract management and quality supplier performance.
3. Estimating: Learn how we develop estimates to drive a competitive and fair cost base, supporting our bidding process to win new business.

5. Global Growth & Marketing: Learn how the Growth Team informs the business of potential opportunities and enhances customer relationships.
6. Operations: Gain a fundamental understanding and experience of Operations by working with our Apprentice Aircraft Fitter / Technical apprentices.

As a Business Apprentice, you will be expected to develop a sound level of commercial acumen and awareness of all the key support functions.
