We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to join the Cardiff Transplant Unit Nursing Team as a Band 6 senior staff nurse.
The Nephrology and Transplant Directorate includes the 20 bedded specialist Cardiff Transplant Unit on T5, a 25 bedded nephrology ward on B5, renal outpatients incorporating IV therapies, and a dedicated dialysis unit, David Thomas Unit.
The directorate offers a planned induction programme through all the areas if required, with the opportunity to complete a Degree or Masters level module in Renal Nursing.
There is a wide range of clinical skills and developmental opportunities available, supported by a Practice Development Nurse.
The successful applicants will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the care for patients who are waiting for or who have undergone kidney or kidney and pancreas transplantation.
The successful post holder will also participate in the on-call transplant service when on shift out of hours.
Main duties of the job
This post will be based in Cardiff Transplant Unit, but there will be an expectation that the role will support the wider directorate when required to meet service needs.
The unit has a friendly, experienced multidisciplinary team who are leaders in the pursuit of excellence for our renal patients.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
