About the Role
We are looking for skilled and dedicated Pressure Conformity Specialists with NDT testing experience to join our Energy and Engineering team. This exciting role includes providing specialist engineering advice regarding pressure conformity for UK Industry markets, notably Nuclear, Oil & Gas, and Renewables.
Responsibilities will include:
* Providing Engineering oversight and pressure conformity specialist advice to PESR/PED certificate holders and applicants
* Supporting the PED Technical Manager as required and deputising as necessary
* Providing technical support to the PED Inspector community and clients
* Conducting competency audits to ensure inspectors maintain the required skills and competencies
* Performing oversight and audit of inspection and verification activity to a high standard in line with procedures, regulations, standards, and client requirements
* Deputising for the PED Technical Manager as required
* Assisting the PED Technical Manager in all aspects of the relevant discipline, including developing technical procedures, standards, and guidance
* Ensuring that all technical procedures and standards are up to date
* Coaching and mentoring the PED Inspector team
* Ensuring compliance with ISO 17020, 17065, etc.
* Developing new inspectors as part of the induction process
* Providing high-level technical expertise to both internal and external clients
* Proactively implementing technical standards and service levels for Bureau Veritas
* Ensuring the delivery of the specific discipline supervision audit plan to maintain engineer competency
* Keeping abreast of technical and legislative changes
* Attending and inputting at engineering technical trade associations and statutory bodies as required
* Providing services to fee-paying and internal customers in the designated fields of expertise
* Monitoring inspection data and evaluating trends as required
Deliverables
* Ensuring our License to Operate is maintained
* Monitoring competencies and authorisations including timely delivery of competency assessments
* Reviewing technical procedures and guidance notes relevant to the business
* Complying with BV UK Management System
* Inspection reports, records, and PESR certificates as appropriate
* Retaining client contracts and relationships working with the Verification Engineers
* Ensuring quality and accuracy of technical content of inspection reports/certificates
* Increasing commercial awareness with respect to potential new opportunities with existing clients
Experience & Skills Required:
* High level of experience and knowledge of manufacture and inspection of Pressure Equipment
* Knowledge of welding and NDT techniques
* Knowledge of Pressure Equipment Regulations
* Mechanical Engineering Background
* Ability to acquire new skills/knowledge
* Excellent communication skills
Qualifications Required:
* HNC in Engineering Discipline or equivalent
* Minimum of 100 SAFed points against SS01
* IEng status or equivalent
