Job Description
Job Purpose
To support the School of Health & Wellbeing (SHW) in the co-ordination and management of a number of complex research projects, which may include working with partners across different countries. The role will support SHW Principal Investigators to provide regular project and finance reports for the duration of projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements to enable successful delivery.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
* Responsible for co-ordination and management of work-packages required for the successful delivery of projects.
* Responsible for management of budgets in co-ordination with Principal Investigators.
* Administration of all project related documentation.
* Driving the project lifecycle including management of projects and its resources; establishment of robust delivery schedules and applying discretion in co-ordinating project delivery activities to meet project outcomes.
* Manage the interaction with external partners, including: co-ordination of plans for the delivery of required milestones, monitoring progress of work against plan, in the event of disruption, evaluating alternatives for assessment by the project team.
* Communication with all relevant sponsor and stakeholder communities, including consultation and management of expectations; reporting to project board, engaging stakeholders from across the University.
* Provide project teams with regular project updates and briefings to make sure they have a clear understanding of the status and any emerging risks or issues for their project.
* Deployment of a robust and responsive risk management approach to identify, assess, monitor and actively manage risks.
* Ensure that there are appropriate quality management processes in place to ensure that the final deliverables of projects comply with stakeholder requirements, appropriate legislation, University policies and procedures, and industry best practice.
* Engage in reasonable professional development activities as appropriate.
* To contribute to the enhancement of the University’s international profile in line with the University’s strategic plan.

Essential
A1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills through personal development and progression in a similar related role(s).
Or: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4, Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
Desirable
B1 Project Management qualification and thorough understanding of project management methodologies.

C1 Ability to write detailed project plans and ensure these are agreed and communicated with the project team, project board and stakeholders.
C2 Demonstrably excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical.
C3 Ability to challenge the status quo effectively, develop innovative approaches, and balance competing priorities.
C4 Effective writing and communication skills to produce clear project management documents and sponsor and stakeholder focused content.
C5 Extensive knowledge of finance systems (e.g Agresso, Excel)
Desirable
D1 Leadership and motivational skills in formal and informal situations.
D2 Extensive knowledge and exposure to the IT system development lifecycle.
D3 Extensive knowledge across a range of information systems.
Experience
Essential
E1 Co-ordination or management of complex projects across the full lifecycle with a successful track record of delivery.
E2 Relationship management, engaging and positively managing relationships with those delivering and affecting by change.
E3 Proven ability to liaise and cooperate with people across organisational boundaries.
E4 Creating and maintaining schedules of work as an active tool for staff delivering work packages.

F1 Reporting experience on grants
Terms and Conditions
Salary will be Grade 6, £33,232 - £36,924 per annum
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and has funding for up to 48 months from the start date.
Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.
