Eden Scott is partnering with our client within the renewable energy space, to recruit a Senior Payroll & Administration specialist.
This role will be based at their modern Edinburgh office but offers hybrid working.
The role will be responsible for managing the UK payroll and supporting their international team. This role required a focus on payroll operations, tax obligations, personnel administration (contracts) and inter-country collaboration across France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

Key Responsibilities:
* Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll processing with their external providers for the UK, ensuring compliance with tax laws, PAYE, and National Insurance requirements.
* International Collaboration: Partner with HR and Finance teams in Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy to create seamless payroll operations and share best practices that elevate their global approach.
* Contract Drafting: Utilize your expertise to draft and review work contracts and agreements, ensuring they align with local employment laws and reflect their company values.
* Board Tax Consultant Support: Serve as a key resource for their legal and tax advisors on tax and administration matters, ensuring we remain compliant with relevant regulations and policies.
* Visa and Work Permit Support: Help their employees navigate the visa and work permit application process for the UK.
* Time and Attendance: Ensure accuracy in tracking and managing time-off policies within Workday and other HR systems, enhancing their employees' experiences.
* Continuous Improvement: Champion process enhancements by implementing data-driven payroll solutions that drive efficiency and improve employee satisfaction.
* Ticketing System Implementation: Take an active role in setting up a ticketing system to streamline payroll and HR queries, collaborating closely with IT and service teams for seamless integration.
* Employee Support: Be the go-to HR contact for payroll-related queries, providing valuable guidance on compensation, international payroll policies, and employee benefits.
* Process Improvement and Documentation: Update and refine policies and procedures to ensure alignment with payroll standards and tax requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in employment tax with knowledge of UK regulations
* Technical Skills: Expertise in UK employment tax legislation (PAYE, NIC), Proficiency in payroll systems, ideally Workday ADP and Active Payroll
* Soft Skills: Analytical strength, good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
