Mechanical Technical Manager
I am currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Technical Manager to join my established, well-known client, based in Burton on Trent, on a permanent basis.
This is a unique opportunity to join a multi- client operating across England, Scotland and Wales. They are investors in people and hold over 60 blue chip clients.

We require someone with Technical/Mechanical excellence from design phases through to commissioning phases, someone who can maintain professional relationships across different teams and someone who will be able to influence the outcomes of project designs.
About the role:
The Mechanical Technical Manager is an operational role that will provide technical leadership and guidance to the project teams. This will involve reviewing and approving technical designs, making decisions on technology selection, and ensuring that technical standards are maintained.
* The Technical Manager will be part of the team from the outset, supporting the cost plan, developing the design and pre-construction programmes, and identifying and managing value engineering savings.
* During the pre-construction phase, the Technical Manager will be responsible for reviewing and approving the technical documentation and designs, and compiling derogation schedules, design responsibility matrixes and risk/opportunity schedules.
* Over the course of the installation and commissioning stages, the ETM will identify and manage technical risks which may involve developing risk mitigation strategies and ensuring that projects are on track to meet technical milestones.
It is essential that the ETM keeps abreast with industry regulations and standards to ensure that all technical aspects of projects comply with relevant regulations and will look for ways to improve processes and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery.
About you:
* Experience within the rail sector and London Underground is essential for this role due to the current orders and future pipeline.
* You will be focusing on high profile, technically complex mechanical and electrical projects.

Requirements:
* Qualification is Mechanical design
* Incorporated Engineer
* HNC/HND in building services is advantageous
* Experience in all aspect of LV power and lighting
* Experience in BMS and Control advantageous
* Be able to read drawings and schematics
* Experienced on the RIBA Plan of Work/BSRIA BG6
* CDM 2015 Regulations, and other Health and Safety and environmental legislation
* Construction contracts and construction contract documentation, including JCT base contracts
* Committed to keeping up with new standards or market solutions
* Ability to review Building Performance Documents, BIM and Digital Engineering software
