In this role, you will take on a leadership position, overseeing the day-to-day care and support of children in a residential care setting. You will lead a team of care staff, ensuring high standards of care and creating a safe, nurturing environment for young people in need. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and lead a team of care staff, providing guidance, support, and ensuring high standards of care for young people. Assist in the development, implementation, and review of individual care plans, ensuring that young people’s needs are met effectively. Ensure the home environment is safe, nurturing, and conducive to the emotional and physical well-being of all residents. Monitor and record daily activities, incidents, and observations, ensuring all records are kept up-to-date and in line with Ofsted requirements. Mentor and support staff, promoting professional development and providing guidance on care practices and behavior management strategies. Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and ensure that young people are protected from harm at all times. Support young people with life skills, education, and personal development, encouraging positive behavior and engagement. Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring that the home is well-maintained, and resources are appropriately allocated. Participate in team meetings, care plan reviews, and case conferences, ensuring that young people’s progress and needs are regularly reviewed. Work on a variable shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts, to ensure 24/7 support for the home. A fixed shift pattern is not available. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Must hold a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare. Previous experience working in a residential childcare setting. Experience in a supervisory or team leader role in a care setting. Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and support a team to achieve high standards of care. Desirable Skills: A full, valid UK driving licence (strongly favourable). Experience working with young people with emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD). Working Hours: This role works on a variable shift pattern, including weekends and evenings.
