Senior Finance Manager - Bolton - ARD1079215
This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
Purpose of the Role
This exciting new opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team reporting to Head of Financial Control & External Reporting. You will be responsible for 3 direct reports and the delivery of the month-end process for the PSC Group of companies within the Advisory Platform of the Ardonagh Group. The role encompasses the preparation of monthly management accounts, consisting of the profit and loss and balance sheets in addition to the preparation of information for statutory accounts, recording of fixed assets, project tracking and payroll in line with the Group financial control framework and Group reporting timetable.
This role will require 4 or 5 days per week in the Bolton office.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:
* Manage the PSC Management Accounting function and develop, coach, support and motivate staff to enhance skills and knowledge.
* Oversee the review and approval of journal entries and for those that do not meet the predefined acceptance criteria, communicate any reason for rejection.
* Review and sign-off of netting adjustment postings, the accruals and prepayment schedules and the balance sheet reconciliations.
* Ensure oversight of the expenses reporting process and associated analysis monthly to ensure budgeted allocation of costs is accurate, capturing any true ups as necessary.
* Handle any escalations from the team in relation to variances.
* Oversee the closure of general ledgers.
* Review monthly payroll and FTE analysis.
* Prepare monthly exceptionals for Platform Financial Controller review and approval.
* Managing escalations from Finance Business Partners and their teams.
* Ensure a robust control framework is operating effectively across the function.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has/is:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
* Experience of IFRS and UK GAAP
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
We need to see experience operating as a finance leader with a broad range of general accounting functions including business and financial reporting.
This is an opportunity for a self-motivated, organised individual who works well under pressure, can pick up new systems and processes quickly and has the ability to train others. You will need to have excellent attention to detail, be adaptable, able to embrace and respond to changes positively.
