Business Development Specialist (Investment Solutions) - London
Mercer’s Investment Solutions business is seeking a candidate who has investment knowledge and experience. As part of our Business Development Unit, you will be at the heart of the action supporting our sales leaders with large new-business opportunities across pension, not-for-profit, insurance or wealth-management client types. This is not a direct sales role but a team-based environment where you will be expected to influence our win rates through top-quality materials, support and proactive thinking. In this central team you will enhance your knowledge and understanding of an entire range of investment topics like strategy-setting, private markets investing, ESG investing, capital markets, and more.
We will count on you to:
1. Develop in-depth knowledge of Mercer’s investment research and client solutions, in order to explain and communicate to colleagues and prospective clients.
2. Work closely with sales and commercial leadership on all aspects of sales and business development activities, demonstrate ownership of key sales deliverables including new business proposals, and pitch material.
3. Support and influence other business development initiatives such as roll-out of new tools, product launches, marketing initiatives, go to market strategy, market research and intelligence. This will involve collaborating with worldwide Mercer colleagues across our wider investment, operational, client and consulting teams.
4. Support, guide and coach more junior colleagues, and contribute to continuous development of the team.
What you need to have:
1. Experience in business development and preparing business proposals for presentation.
2. Third-level qualification with a good academic track record and an interest in capital markets and investment industry (CFA and actuarial candidates welcome).
3. Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders and deliverables simultaneously.
