There is an exciting opportunity to join the Nursing and Quality Directorate as a job share, as the Head of NMAHP Education. This role is to lead the operational and strategic direction of NMAHP pre and post registration education. The role reports to the Head of NMAHP Workforce, who is responsible for the NMAHP workforce and education on behalf of the Executive Director of Nursing.
It is vital that we have the right staff with the right skills and experience across our organisation to deliver high-quality care to our patients. This role will help shape the direction of our educational journey by supporting our NMAHP workforce and developing career pathways and leaders to ensure we are the employer of choice. The post holder will be the lead for NMAHP education, operationally managing trainees and education teams, including practice placement facilitator roles, administrators and apprentices.
Main duties of the job
The job will provide the operational lead and direction for NMAHP pre-registration education and apprenticeships on behalf of the Senior Nursing Team.
To educate and train nurses and midwives at all levels across the organisation to develop their skills, to support professional education and to maintain clinical excellence.
To work collaboratively with our HEI partners, ensuring high-quality placements for our students, appropriate educational courses for our registered workforce, and maintain dynamic working relationships.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the Trust achieves its requirements for maintaining local and national standards for pre and post registration NMAHP training and maintain the standards of training placements.
Engage with key stakeholders to develop and implement NMAHP education, from entry-level care assistant roles through to senior leadership roles.
The post holder will ensure pre- and post-registration education is fit for purpose, future orientated and dynamic.
The post holder will ensure that all developmental programmes for the nursing workforce, from assistant practitioner and associate nursing roles up are fit for purpose, accessible and meet the requirements of the Trust.
Ensure that education offered supports the professional development of staff through all levels of the NMAHP career pathway.

Person Specification
Skills and Knowledge
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Extensive knowledge of NHS policy and strategy in relation to training of the nursing workforce and how it links to workforce development of other professional and non-professional groups
* Evidence of knowledge of service improvement and the use of service improvement methodology
* Effective organisation and time management skills and able to work to deadlines
* Teaching/presentation skills
* Research and audit skills
* Leadership and management skills evidenced through previous work experience and roles
* Able to effectively communicate across professional boundaries and manage conflict
Physical skills
* Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post.
Experience
* A proven track record for delivering Key Performance Indicators
* Wide and significant experience of working as a Senior Nurse/AHP Manager in a complex environment
* Evidence of achievement within a corporate role across boundaries and professions
Qualifications
* Current registration with NMC or HCPC (Nursing, Midwifery or AHP)
* Able to demonstrate academic achievement at post-graduate/masters level
