Salary: 45,000 - 45,000 GBP per year Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
* 2-4 years of experience in data engineering.
* Proficiency in Python programming, including PySpark.
* Advanced SQL skills.
* 2 years of hands-on experience building ETL pipelines using SQL and Python.
* Experience with Databricks is preferred.
* Familiarity with ETL orchestration tools.
Responsibilities:
* Configure and maintain the Databricks platform in line with best practice standards.
* Manage the lifecycle of the data platform, including updates and performance optimization, ensuring that all components operate efficiently and securely.
* Collaborate with data engineers to build, monitor, and maintain data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and storing data in the platform, integrating data from various sources for timely analytics and reporting.
* Support the implementation and maintenance of security protocols, including data encryption and user access controls, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
* Manage data backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure that data is securely backed up and recoverable.
* Continuously monitor platform performance, availability, and health, proactively resolving performance bottlenecks and system issues.
* Analyze platform performance, optimizing resource usage, storage, and query performance to ensure scalability.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation for all aspects of the data platform and prepare regular reports on platform health and usage.
* Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business units to understand data needs and ensure the platform meets those requirements.
* Stay up to date with trends and technologies in data management, continually evaluating new tools and best practices to enhance platform efficiency and security.
