We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Teaching Assistant to support a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) TA in a Key Stage 2 classroom. In this role, you will provide essential support for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, helping to create a positive, inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEMH TA to deliver tailored support to individuals and small groups, fostering both academic and emotional growth. You will assist the SEMH TA in providing targeted support for students with additional needs, ensuring they have the tools to thrive. You will provide one-on-one or small group interventions, focusing on both academic progress and emotional well-being. Supporting students with emotional regulation, you will help them manage and express their emotions appropriately in a learning environment. You will collaborate with the class teacher to adapt learning activities and materials to meet individual needs and help students develop social skills, self-confidence, and independence. Additionally, you will monitor student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SEMH TA, all while building strong, positive relationships with students to foster trust and respect. To be considered for this role, you should have previous experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly those with SEMH, in an educational setting. A knowledge and understanding of strategies to support children with emotional and behavioral challenges is essential. You should also possess strong communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children is crucial, along with a positive attitude towards inclusion and an understanding of how to support diverse learning needs. While relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable, they are not essential.
