The Role:
The CoSTAR National Lab Piloting Producer plays a crucial role in the production and delivery of a range of CoSTAR National Lab outputs. These can range from pilots developed by UK companies through our funded access programmes, to creative workshops that arise from our research and that are used to facilitate new ideas for pilots and prototypes, through to creating industry-facing reports to showcase our work and research findings. You will work in a creative, inclusive, and dynamic environment, managing complex projects from inception to completion. This role requires excellent project management, organisational, and production skills, and you will need to be agile, responsive, and creative in your approach to delivery.
This is an opportunity for a creative and well-organised producer with a passion for the new and the next and an ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion. Through access to our cutting-edge technical facilities and leading research expertise and by working alongside industry partners, you will help us to vision, progress, and ultimately deliver a range of pilots and prototypes both on schedule and on budget.
The post has significant programme production and project management responsibilities across a wide range of activities including setting up and managing innovation workshops and hackathons, securing the use of CoSTAR infrastructure for piloting and prototyping calls, and being a key point of liaison for businesses engaging with activity at the CoSTAR National Lab.
About the National R&D Lab:
The CoSTAR National Lab is the largest ever investment in creative industries R&D by UKRI. A £51.1m programme led by Royal Holloway, University of London to develop a National R&D Lab to ensure the UK’s screen and performance sectors have the innovation, infrastructure, skills, and expertise needed to compete globally. Our Lab will include dedicated Stage and Studio space at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, advanced creative computing technologies including AI, virtual production, and 5G systems. Our consortium brings together world-leading research teams in areas that include; media production, psychology, business, at Royal Holloway, AI at University of Surrey, and Creative Technology at Abertay University; along with professional training at the National Film & Television School. Our industry partners include BT and Disguise, whose systems power some of the world's biggest live shows.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Oversee the production and delivery of a range of CoSTAR National Lab outputs, including pilots and prototypes.
- Manage and schedule milestones for companies working across our range of access programmes.
- Coordinate and deliver innovation workshops, hackathons, and industry-facing events.
- Act as the principal point of contact for SMEs contracted to work on Nat Lab PPP Calls.
- Conduct research interviews and support the delivery of worldbuilding research programmes.
- Produce industry-facing reports and pilots emerging from worldbuilding research.
- Engage with a diverse array of stakeholders across academia, creative technology companies, research organizations, and creative practitioners.

The post is based in Egham, Surrey where the University is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London but with the expectation of significant working time at the CoSTAR National Lab based at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.
