Job Overview We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, self motivated, experienced secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial support to the Community Paediatric team. It is essential that applicants possess a high level of audio typing skills, hold a Medical Secretarial Qualification or have sufficient medical secretarial experience, and are qualified to a minimum of RSA Stage 3 (or equivalent experience). The successful applicant will be able to work on their own initiative and be able to work as part of a team. The post holder will be able to work within time constraints and be able to meet deadline whilst being able to demonstrate good organisational skills and the ability to maintain good and reliable records. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job The Senior Medical Secretary Function Provides: An accurate, confidential and supportive administration service for patients, clinical teams, carers and internal and external agencies (e.g. Local Authority, Third Sector, CAIS) in order to: Provide a safe and efficient patient pathway and provide information and appropriate support to families and carers. The post holder will ensure the delivery of a comprehensive high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant, doctor and junior medical team and specialist nursing teams, other health professionals. The post holder will be responsible for the guidance and direction of the team dealing with appropriate day to day issues to oversee the smooth running of the department and providing support to the line manager.
