As our new Head of Property and Facilities, you will ensure that Homeless Oxfordshire remains a safe and supportive haven for those in need.
Homeless Oxfordshire is the county’s largest not for profit provider of accommodation for people experiencing homelessness. We also provide a wide range of specialist support services beyond bricks and mortar.
Our support helps people rebuild their lives.
About the role.
As Property and Facilities Manager at Homeless Oxfordshire, you will play a vital leadership role in overseeing all property and facilities services, ensuring effective operations, including preventative and reactive maintenance, while managing relationships with external contractors.
You will support property acquisitions, developments, and refurbishments and ensure our portfolio meets our residents’ needs. You will establish and monitor compliance standards across all properties and champion health and safety initiatives to maintain a safe environment.
As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will contribute to the Charity’s strategic plans and risk management efforts, guiding the team to achieve organisational objectives. You will foster a culture of professional development and inclusivity, conducting fair recruitment processes and promoting the well-being of your team members.
Additionally, you will maintain essential property information and collaborate with external stakeholders to support property-related initiatives. You will report performance outcomes to the Board and enhance service delivery, ensuring that Homeless Oxfordshire remains a safe and supportive haven for those in need.
Who we are looking for.
We are seeking an experienced senior manager who has the desire to have a huge impact on our team and organisation through renewed energy and forward momentum.
You will bring a wealth of experience in estate, property, and fixed asset management, with a solid understanding of compliance in supported housing environments. An understanding of relevant legislation to support housing and familiarity with voluntary and statutory services for vulnerable adults is crucial.
You will have experience in successfully developing project plans for both capital and operational expenditures and have hands-on experience managing budgets and creating detailed expenditure reports.
Skilled in building strong relationships with suppliers and contractors, you will lead interactions at a senior level while also managing a dedicated team. Strong communication skills are also essential, as you’ll be working with a range of stakeholders and presenting complex information in an accessible way. Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to tackle risk management issues effectively are also vital.
Above all, you will have a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults, along with a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion. Working within a fast-paced and small team, this is your chance to make a positive impact on residents facing homelessness.
