As well as our care delivered within the community, our In-Patient Unit is where our patients and families are cared for by the clinical and medical teams, ensuring that each patient and their family is supported and cared for to the highest standard. Without our invaluable IPU volunteering team, we cannot provide this quality of care to patients and families.
As an IPU volunteer your main role will be to help enhance our patients' experience and make their time in the hospice as comfortable as possible. You can support this care by providing practical and compassionate support to patients, their families, and our staff while helping to provide a welcoming and friendly environment. Every moment matters for our patients and their families, whether it's supporting patients to spend time with loved ones, reading a book together, taking part in an art class, or supporting a patient to share a special meal with family. These moments bring joy. IPU volunteering roles play a vital part in celebrations and creating moments with family and friends that will be treasured.
