We currently have an opportunity for a Process Controller to work at Maple Lodge Sewage Treatment Works. As the successful candidate, you will be accountable for the overall operation of the Sewage Treatment Works, working as part of a team of Process Controllers, to ensure the effective and continuous operation of the works (24/7).
Also, you will be responsible for replying to specific situations to ensure the relevant processes are brought under control or escalated to an event. You will be the responsible person on site. Where applicable, direct the Process Technicians to ensure that services are delivered on time, at cost and a high-quality standard. In some cases, this may include planned and preventative maintenance of equipment to support the operation of the plant.
As the Process Controller, you will find that no working day is the same. This will provide a very interesting, challenging and rewarding working environment. You will be at one of the biggest sewage treatment works on the Thames Water Estate and will receive full training for the Health & Safety, technical and process requirements related to the plant.
What you will be doing as a Process Controller (Waste)
* Being responsible for the overall operation of the Sewage Treatment Works and associated outstations for the plant and equipment.
* Carry out High voltage and related low voltage switching operations.
* Monitoring, collating and reporting data in order to ensure that statutory and regulatory compliance is met and the site meets regulatory quality standards and customer demand.
* Processing faults and advise suitable rectification by first fix, raising issues to the Site Management Team.
* Carrying out isolations to plant and issuing Permits to work as part of a safe system of work.
* Assisting with on-site capital project works, co-ordinate maintenance and operational personnel raising reactive work.
* Monitoring stock levels and request and take deliveries.
* Undertaking safety and security checks and taking responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues.
* Operate and monitor the processes from the Control room using SCADA, and where necessary, go into the process area to carry out operations, inspect the process area.
* Undergo training in safety procedures including confined space entry.
What should you bring to the role?
* Must be a team player who values collaboration and different perspectives.
* A qualification in a technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, or ICA) would be advantageous, such as Technical City and Guilds, ONC/OND, HNC/HND, or an equivalent certification.
* Experience in a relevant industry and in managing or controlling the relevant treatment processes.
* Ability to work unsupervised on 12-hour shifts, day or night.
* Confident in using the appropriate Company IT systems and Office software.
* Previous experience with SCADA systems would be an advantage.
* Due to the nature of the role, you must have a full UK driving Licence.
