To build mechanical and/or electrical assemblies to technical drawings, SOP’s and CMM’s.
To upgrade and repair mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
To test assembled product.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
* Mechanical assembly work to drawing and/or CMMs.
* Electro/mechanical work, fan/motors and or heaters to drawing and/or CMMs.
* Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment, such as torque drivers, crimping tools, micrometers, and verniers.
* Soldering of small components.
* Carry out mechanical and electrical tests as defined in the process control documents, including Flash, resistance, and inductance tests.
* Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures.
* Complete all relevant documentation.
* Provide information or assistance to customers, suppliers, and visitors from other companies, as they may tour the factory floors.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement and 5S activities that affect product quality or output.
* Use PPE (personal protective equipment) as provided.
* Carry out all activities in a timely manner to ensure company manufacturing targets are achieved.
* Take on ad hoc duties, including training colleagues and supporting other departments as needed.
Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions
* Undertake training as required by the role manager.
* Fulfill reasonable requests from the role manager/acting manager or Directors.
* Provide support outside of normal tasks during times of reduced department staff attendance to ensure customer satisfaction.
Professional Knowledge & Experience
* Able to read and understand drawings, CMMs, and SOPs.
* Familiar with working from SOPs in tandem with drawings.
* Able to read, write, and understand English.
* Knowledge of tools such as circlip pliers, screwdrivers, tweezers, and Swiss files.
* Soldering skills for small components.
* Experience with machines, lathes, and drills.
* Previous experience in a production environment, particularly with the assembly of electro/mechanical products.
* Experience in assembling small components, such as model kits.
* Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively at all levels.
* Self-motivated and professional with good time management skills.
