Responsible for a professional team to manage the day to day safe, efficient and economic running of overhead line and cable systems within SPT’s franchise area to meet customer requirements and in doing so maximise SPT’s contribution to the profit growth of the Business using an environmentally aware and efficient approach. The individual will have responsibility for ensuring that: Ensure compliance with all corporate policies, i.e. Safety, Finance, Ethics etc. All circuits are maintained and operated in line with company policy and legislative requirements. All circuits have a high degree of availability and reliability. Are run in an efficient, economic and co-ordinated fashion. Delivery of Inspection and Maintenance, plus capital programmes in line with price review requirements Delivery of targeted outperformance in line with Business plan What you’ll be doing Lead the safety culture, ensuring all legislation and company rules, policies and procedures are adhered to. Delivery of the RIIO-T2, and subsequent price review plans Manage and deliver a robust inspection, maintenance, defect and fault process. Ownership and preparation of the TOTEX budget and required regulatory reporting associated with circuits. Fulfil the role of Operational Asset Manager for all SPT cable and overhead line assets. Ensure that all circuits asset health is regularly reviewed a kept on the corporate systems. Ensure corporate systems are utilised effectively. Manage customer service proactively against a suitable set of measures and indicators. Manage business and organisational change effectively and ensure performance, productivity and service standards are maintained / improved. Deliver asset maintenance and replacement in line with agreed plans and budgets. Able to make balanced decisions, taking into account all possible information available, able to consult with others when applicable and anticipate/recognise possible outcomes. Although confident to make own decisions, will refer to immediate supervisor or peers for either ratification of own view, or assistance in decision making when necessary. Management of risk control framework and formulation of risk management strategy. Requirement to develop staff by making decisions on their deployment to new roles. What you’ll bring Working knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices. Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation. Awareness of Asset Management standards / policies for circuits assets Awareness of network development policies and procedures. Developed customer service skills. Knowledge of network and business data and network management systems. Innovative in applying the latest technologies. Project, contract & SLA management and general commercial & regulatory awareness. Developed negotiation, communication and man management skills. Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges. Working knowledge of industrial relations framework. Expert on managing a balanced scorecard. At least 3 years’ experience in a line management role. Broad operational experience preferred, e.g. spanning Transmission and Distribution Operations, Overhead Lines and cables. To be successful in a role you will need to demonstrate as a minimum: Enthusiastic and flexible individual with drive to succeed. Excellent communication skills with individuals at all levels. Strong customer focus. Effective decision maker not inhibited by consultation with others when necessary or give lead as required.
