Senior Quality Engineer - Aerospace

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
Well established Aerospace manufacturing business is looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to their team in Stockport.
THE ROLE
As Quality Engineer you will be part of a growing team at this well-established precision engineering and machining business based in Stockport. You will be working closely with the production team and will be focused on helping to reduce waste/scrap and improve 'right first time' product quality. Your responsibilities will be:
1. Work closely with the production team to support the manufacturing process with the aim of improving 'right first time' quality.
2. Compiling and managing FAIRs on new products and also products subject to source change or design change.
3. Capturing and investigating non-conformances using recognised problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5Y, Ishikawa.
4. Engaging with key stakeholders in the production, design, engineering and supply chain functions to put in place correct and preventative actions (CAPA).
5. Responding to customer queries and complaints and producing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's).
6. Ensuring all documentation such as audits and route cards are up to date and compliant with the company quality manual and AS9100.
7. Assisting with internal audit activity.
THE PERSON
You will be an experienced Quality Engineer with a strength for problem solving and working with stakeholders to drive improvements. You will be experienced at compiling and managing FAIRs.
As the role is focused on Quality Assurance processes within the aerospace industry, a background in a highly regulated industry such as aerospace, defence, oil & gas or automotive would be relevant. This role is also suited to someone who works well in a team environment and takes satisfaction from continuous improvement.
Experience of technically demanding industries such as nuclear, aerospace or subsea engineering will be a benefit.
