We are seeking an experienced Ice Cream and Gelato Producer to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating high-quality frozen desserts and a strong background in the operation of continuous freezers and related production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Production: Oversee the daily production of ice cream and gelato, ensuring adherence to recipes, quality standards, and production schedules.
- Equipment Operation: Expertly operate, maintain, and troubleshoot continuous freezers, pasteurisers, and other production machinery.
- Quality Control: Monitor product quality at all stages of production, from ingredient mixing to freezing and hardening. Adjust formulas and processes as needed to maintain product integrity.
- Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary production environment to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory of raw materials and finished products, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimising waste.
- Training: Train new team members on production processes, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimise production downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs of all refrigeration and production systems.
- Occasionally assist in picking of orders and any other warehouse duties, if necessary.
- Documentation: Produce relevant SOPs, batch records for the processes. Ensure documentation is constantly updated based on any changes.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in ice cream or gelato production, with proven experience operating continuous freezers, pasteurisers.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of ice cream and gelato manufacturing processes, including pasteurisation, homogenisation, and freezing techniques.
- Certifications: Preferably certified in food safety standards like HACCP, ServSafe, or equivalent.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25kg.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team setting, coordinating with other departments.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in following recipes and maintaining product consistency.
-Documentation: Experience writing SOPs, batch records, and any other relevant production documentation.
