About the Role
Service Care Solutions is currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager to join their team in Greater Manchester. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations across four manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all health and safety-related issues across the manufacturing facilities, ensuring adherence to company procedures, local authority, and national/international legislation.
* Lead regular audits and inspections to ensure legal compliance and identify areas for improvement.
* Develop and implement effective training programs for new and existing staff, maintaining accurate training records and developing comprehensive training plans.
* Communicate effectively with site managers and production leaders on health and safety matters, providing timely updates and addressing concerns promptly.
* Compile and circulate a monthly health and safety report for review and discussion at management meetings.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement, utilizing techniques to enhance HSE performance and management systems.
* Manage departmental budget spend, optimizing resources for maximum impact.
* Assist in creating, implementing, and reviewing risk assessments, safe working procedures, and method statements across all sites.
* Ensure all Group activities are conducted safely, adhering to company Health and Safety Procedures, including proper PPE and equipment usage.
* Maintain a positive and proactive health & safety culture.
* Chair monthly health & safety meetings, recording discussions and action items.
* Conduct timely investigations into accidents and near-misses, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions.
* Coordinate asbestos and fire risk assessment surveys, managing resulting actions in conjunction with General Managers.
* Perform quarterly housekeeping / workplace inspections, managing internal actions with General Managers/Production Managers/Team Leaders.
* Complete COSHH assessments as needed and participate in MSDS documentation review/compilation.
* Develop and manage controls to minimize environmental impacts from production processes.
* Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and objectives regarding processes, initiatives, and projects.
* Maintain Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, including ISO9001, 14001, and 45001 requirements.
Requirements
* Hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
* Prior experience in a senior HSE management role, demonstrating a track record of driving behavioral safety and a zero-harm culture.
* Experience working in fast-paced, process-based general/industrial manufacturing environments.
* Able to drive change and improvements, influencing at all levels of the organization.
* Familiarity with DSEAR/ATEX requirements is beneficial.
* Previous experience in process-based manufacturing environments such as technical textiles, rubber/polymer, plastics manufacturing is highly beneficial.
