What will you be doing as our new Lead Process Engineer
Working as a Lead Process Engineer, you will provide engineering technical direction to the discipline engineers in your area, in either water or water recycling non-infrastructure projects. Part of the role involves providing design support for several non-infrastructure schemes and ensuring all designs fit within the current legislation and standards.
You will be responsible for the checking and reviewing of process design deliverables produced by other process engineers in the @one Alliance to ensure the processes and procedures are followed, as well as coaching and mentoring junior engineers.
The Lead Process Engineer will collaborate with key stakeholders and assist the multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure the project solution is providing best value for business through being fit for purpose and completed on time, to budget, and to the correct quality.
Key responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the Principal Engineer, Portfolio Design Manager, and project Design Managers to review upcoming projects and design review dates.
2. Check Process and Instrumentation drawings and 3D models to ensure quality, safety, and technical standards are adhered to.
3. Check project design calculations and ensure they have been completed by the project teams.
4. Drive sustainability and low-carbon designs.
5. Ensure designs comply with process standards, regulations, and Anglian Water standards.
6. Develop design alerts where lessons are to be learned.
7. Provide technical knowledge and experience to the lettings of @One frameworks.
8. Undertake site visits when appropriate.
9. Present lessons learned and technical developments to the engineers and wider alliance.
10. Embrace new digital technologies to achieve the goal of fully attributed 3D models.
11. Support the team to reduce carbon and increase natural capital within design.
12. Maintain portfolio awareness in technical areas and disseminate to all process engineers.
13. Coach and mentor less experienced members of the process team.
A little bit about your skills, experience, and behaviours…
To be eligible for this dynamic role within the @One Alliance, you should possess a Degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification or be able to demonstrate a degree-level of knowledge through relevant experience. Ideally, you will be chartered or actively pursuing chartered status, coupled with experience in water-sector assets and capital projects or design and build environment.
