Your New Job Title: Mandarin Speaking Credit Risk Analyst - Banking, London

Reporting to: Senior Risk Manager
To be successful in this role our client has said it is essential that candidates:
* speak and write fluent Mandarin and English
* have credit risk experience within banking
What You'll be Doing Each Day:
* Help credit team members understand policies and documents issued from HO and translate key content into English if needed.
* Assist credit team members with system operations when some menus are only in Chinese.
* Present credit proposals to Head Office Credit Committees when necessary.
* Assist with the review and development of credit risk policies and procedures required by HO.
* Establish and maintain credit risk management controls, systems, and procedures that meet the requirements of HO, Branch, and external auditors.
* Monitor adherence to approved credit limits and inform the Deputy Head of Risk of all material excesses on the same working day as identified.
* Ensure that all credit risks are monitored and controlled, and that credit limits are formally reviewed per the Branch’s internal policies.
* Provide high quality and independent credit risk assessments and recommendations for issuers and clients when needed.
* Conduct comprehensive and accurate credit analysis of country risks when needed.
* Advise on structuring prospective transactions and guidance on completing credit proposals to ensure all risks are identified.
* Read and understand the Risk Management & Compliance framework applicable to their work and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
* Ensure transactions are in accordance with the Tax Risk Policy and documented per the Legal Policy and departmental procedures.
* Manage the use of IT systems and personal data in accordance with the IT Security Policy and Data Protection Policy.
* Provide policy, tools, techniques, and support to manage conduct and compliance risk effectively.
The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:
* Educated to degree and/or appropriate professional qualification level
* Some credit risk experience within banking.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English and Mandarin.
* A sound understanding of a broad range of wholesale lending products
* Good team skills and the ability to work closely with business areas while retaining independence
* Ability to shoulder responsibility, show initiative, make decisions, and work under pressure
* Strong problem-solving skills
