People Partner
Location: Hybrid working, Worthing
Perm/FTC: 12 month FTC
Hours: 37 hrs
Salary: Up to £60,000 based on experience
Southern Water are looking for a People Partner to join our fantastic People Team! Reporting to the Senior People Partner, this role will act as the customer touch-point between the business and HR. The role proactively partners with senior management teams to drive positive change, by constructively questioning management teams to ensure that people choices are consistent and commercial and in support of the business and HR strategy. The role works as a trusted strategic partner on business change and transformation projects.
Accountabilities
1. Proactively business partner business areas:
2. The implementation of the People Plan and strategy for the business area, including prioritising focus areas and requirements in line with business strategy
3. Provide expertise on organisational design
4. support strategic change programmes and ensure changes are communicated effectively and stakeholders are well managed, including working with Employee Voice reps and Unison
5. Help business leaders drive engagement for their areas through supporting with proactive initiatives
6. Support with complex employee relations cases where required
7. Partner with Centres of Excellence:
8. Talent and Development Partner to drive a performance and development culture, through succession planning, strategic talent reviews and development planning;
9. Reward Partner to support the business’ job evaluation and benchmarking framework for the business including for current and new roles, providing strategic advice for the Reward strategy for the business area
10. Recruitment Partner to support the business’ recruitment and talent attraction strategy, ensuring we recruit and retain the right talent into the business
11. Continuously proactively look into ideas and initiatives to improve our ways of working
Skills & Competencies
12. Exceptional eye for detail and organisational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
13. Calm, confident, professional and engaging manner with an ability to integrate a number of considerations into projects
14. Excellent track record of building authentic relationships with employees of all levels including Senior Management Teams. Successfully influencing at a senior level and nurturing a high level of trust and mutual respect.

17. Excellent communication and planning skills and a track record of building authentic, trust-based relationships at all levels
Knowledge
18. Extensive, proven experience of working in a dynamic, busy People Partner role in a fast paced, complex organisation
19. Experience of leading end-to-end organisational change projects, including restructures and TUPE
20. Excellent employment law knowledge and current thinking in HR issues
Qualifications
21. Degree qualified (or educational equivalent) or equivalent experience
22. CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience
