Gynaecology Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist
The successful candidate will work closely with the cancer services MDT and wider teams to ensure that the highest levels of care are provided to our patients.
The individual will conduct follow-up reviews of gynaecological cancer patients and promote patient safety by avoiding crisis admissions through proactive assessments and follow-up telephone calls.
Complete eNHA's, ensuring holistic care is delivered to patients and their families. They will liaise with the surgical CNS's, dietetics, and other members of the wider MDT and consultants for seamless collaborative care.
Support with treatment toxicities and follow-up patients through their cancer journey, and reduce length of stay by facilitating expert discharge planning at the point of admission.
Main Duties of the Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated senior nurse who is passionate about gynaecological cancer to lead and support the development of the gynaecology cancer service at Swansea Bay University Health Board.
We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking individual who is flexible, self-motivated, reliable, and a good team player and leader. You should have a degree and be willing to develop your academic and clinical practice. Excellent communication skills are essential.
You will play an active part in clinical practice, education, research/audit, and the implementation of national guidelines. The successful applicant will work as part of a well-established dynamic gynaecology multi-disciplinary team that provides specialist advice, holistic care, and support to patients, their relatives, and all members of the health care teams within the hospital.
With the support of the team, you will lead and manage a caseload of patients with specialist needs. You will be required to lead, support, develop, and evaluate the gynaecology cancer service to improve and maintain standards of patient care and promote a seamless service within a multi-disciplinary framework.
