We’re looking for a caring and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. In this role, you’ll provide vital care and support to children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in a solo placement setting, helping them feel safe, valued, and supported every step of the way. You’ll also take on leadership responsibilities to guide and inspire other staff members, making a positive impact both on your team and the young person in your care. What You'll Be Doing: Providing Day-to-Day Care : Deliver high-quality care and support based on the child’s individual care and behaviour plans. Mentoring and Leading : Lead and mentor a team of Residential Support Workers, offering guidance, support, and encouragement. Supporting the Management Team : Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with the overall management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and best practices. Developing Care Plans : Help create and implement personalised care plans and risk assessments that meet the specific needs of each child. Creating a Positive Environment : Foster a nurturing, safe, and supportive home where children feel empowered to thrive. Record Keeping : Maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed. Working with Families and Professionals : Build strong relationships with families, external agencies, and professionals involved in the child’s care. Ongoing Learning : Participate in staff training, development, and recruitment activities to continuously improve the quality of care provided. What We’re Looking For: Experience : At least 18 months’ experience in a residential childcare setting. Qualifications : Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards it). Safeguarding Knowledge : A solid understanding of child protection and safeguarding practices. Leadership Skills : Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. Flexibility : Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. Full UK Driving Licence.
