If so, why not come and join the 0-19 Public Health Integrated Nursing Service as a 0-19 Staff Nurse at Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust?
Our Service has a strong focus on our amazing everyday staff. You will be part of an integrated 0-19 team, working with health visitors, school nurses, family health workers and healthcare support workers to meet the needs of the local population.
The role will involve the promotion of health and well-being for preschool/school aged children, young people and families in a variety of settings.
Experience of working with children and young people alongside understanding of safeguarding issues is desirable but not essential as we will support you with a thorough and comprehensive induction, preceptorship programme and service wide 0-19 training.
Main duties of the job
Core business hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
A typical working week could include:
* Supporting families with children who have complex needs
* Managing health needs assessments and attending review meetings for children looked after
* Triaging A&E attendances and offering follow up support to families
* Providing medical conditions training to schools and on a 1:1 basis with parents
* Managing nocturnal enuresis clinics and continence assessments
* Offering short term packages of care to families/young people requiring specific support
* Signposting to other key services and completing referrals as appropriate.
As part of the role you could have an opportunity to be supported to undertake the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification (Health Visitor or School Nurse) with a placement within the Service.
