What you’ll do at work
We are seeking a proactive and driven Apprentice Contracts Manager to join our team at Blue Chip PFP Ltd, specialising in Passive Fire Protection services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting in Contract Management: Support the Contracts Manager in overseeing and managing contracts for various fire protection projects, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and legal standards
* Project Coordination: Assist project teams in planning, scheduling, and executing projects
* Ensure all relevant documentation is kept up to date and accessible
* Client Liaison: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers. Help address contractual queries and facilitate effective communication
* Cost and Budget Control: Work alongside the Quantity Surveying team to assist in budget management, tracking costs, and ensuring financial accuracy across projects
* Risk Management: Support in identifying potential risks in projects and assist in developing strategies to mitigate these risks
* Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure that all projects adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations in line with Blue Chip’s policies
* Reporting and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all project-related communications, meetings, and agreements, ensuring proper documentation at all stages

Course contents
* Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
* Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
* Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
* Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
* Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
* Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
* Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.
Your training plan
Construction Site Supervisor Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard:
* (Higher national certificate)
* Attending Sheffield college (City Campus) 1 day a week, Studying an HNC in Construction for 2 years and working towards an End Point Assessment in year 3
Assessment:
* The HNC is an assignment based qualification, studying 8 units over the 2 years. Qualification Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate and the Built Environment (Construction)
