Crewing Officer Job Description
As our Crewing Officer, you will arrange crew changes for nominated vessels, plan the right seafarers to the right ships, and ensure high standards of compliance. You will also provide important support to the crew, such as ensuring crew deployments are conducted safely, efficiently, and with a high priority on costs. In this role, you will become fully familiar with the crewing (Shipmate) system as well as other systems such as OCIMF.
Since we operate our vessels on a 24-hour basis, 365 days a year, there will be a requirement to respond at short notice, and weekend work will be required.
Responsibilities
1. Crew changes, including arranging travel/immigration, checking documents, updating supplier tracking sheets, applying for documents (CRA's/CECs), ensuring Fleet Personnel Email is correctly managed, checking invoices, and communicating with travelers, vessels, agents, and all related matters.
2. Payroll and financial reporting to the Crewing Manager.
3. Managing personnel reports to the Crewing Manager.
4. Updating crewing records in systems such as OCIMF and Shipmate.
5. Uploading and verifying that correct documents are retained within the crewing systems.
6. Arranging drug and alcohol screening for company vessels.
7. Assisting with incident investigations on assigned vessels.
8. Participating in seafarer conferences as required.
9. Supporting the annual review of procedures by providing feedback to the Crewing Manager.
10. Participating in audits as required.
11. Providing out-of-hours cover.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
* Crewing experience.
* Understanding of documentation, SMS, OCIMF TMSA, STCW, MLC, etc.
* Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills.
* Ability to respond professionally to stakeholders.
* Good team player.
* Seagoing certification is preferable but not required.
* Must have the right to live and work in the U.K.
