Location: Homebased (Covering Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire)
Contract: 12 month fixed term (with potential to be extended or made permanent)
Salary: £28,639 - Increasing to £32,612 following successful completion of a 6 months probation period

The role
Part of the Outreach team, the Outreach Adviser is a client focused role which forms part of our Advice, Issue Reporting and Eligibility (AIRE) service at Migrant Help. You will support our national Asylum Services to support our most vulnerable asylum seekers across the UK through a mixture of telephone and face to face advice. You will primarily provide day to day support for clients and partners in need of Outreach, ensuring that compliance with Home Office standards is met.

Role responsibilities
* Assisting clients with applications for Asylum Support and Move on Services
* Signposting clients to specialised support where required
* Manage a caseload offering appropriate support in a designated timeframe
* Keep accurate and up-to-date case records, complete case follow ups within the requisite time scales and undertake any necessary administrative tasks
* Ensure that their work meets overall quality standards and, where possible, exceeds it in line with Government and other Stakeholder contracted arrangements
* Provide Advice and Guidance to Asylum Seekers as required
* Provide signposting and make referrals to other services as appropriate
* Assist clients, report any issues to accommodation providers and the Home Office to highlight any safeguarding concerns
* Ensure the Outreach and Move on Manager is kept updated with any trends
* Occasionally attend training or meetings organised outside of normal working hours whenever reasonably practicable
* Undertake any other duties which may be assigned from time to time and may include cover for other funded projects.
The experience and skills you need
* Excellent interpersonal skills/ability to communicate with diverse groups
* Experience working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment
* Proven ability to prioritise and work on your own initiative whilst respecting boundaries
* Ability to work flexibly on own initiative and as part of a team as required
* Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and databases; particularly in making and keeping accurate and timely records
