Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced HCPC-registered Diagnostic Radiographer to join our growing academic team in the School of Health & Wellbeing at the University of Worcester. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the future of our BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography programme as Course Leader.
Main duties of the job
Depending on skills and experience, the successful candidate will be appointed as either a Senior Lecturer (Teaching) & Course Leader or a Principal Lecturer (Teaching) & Course Leader. At Principal Lecturer level, the postholder will also provide academic leadership to the Diagnostic Radiography team and wider department of Allied Health.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography course, including day-to-day operations and quality assurance.
* Design, deliver and assess high-quality, innovative teaching and learning materials, including blended learning approaches.
* Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and contribute to assessment processes.
* Act as Personal Academic Tutor and support student development.
* Engage with recruitment and selection activities.
* Undertake academic administrative responsibilities and contribute to School and University committees.
* Participate in scholarly activity, CPD, and professional development.
* Promote inter-professional learning and collaboration across the School.
* Ensure inclusive, sustainable, and safe teaching practices.

Job responsibilities
1. To lead the BSc Diagnostic Radiography course, overseeing day-to-day operations, completing assigned tasks, and ensuring the smooth running of the program.
2. To design, develop, and deliver innovative learning materials and assessments for undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including blended learning approaches.
3. To provide high-quality teaching for diagnostic radiographers and allied health students at all levels, through face-to-face, online, and practical methods, ensuring adherence to quality assurance procedures.
4. For Principal Lecturer - To contribute to leadership by managing the diagnostic radiography academic team and other allied health colleagues.
5. To act as a Personal Academic Tutor.
6. To take an active role in cross-School activities, including teaching, contributing to the inter-professional philosophy of the School.
7. To carry out academic administrative work and participate in relevant committees within the School, College and University.
8. To support and contribute to practice education as requested by the Practice Education Lead / Team and/or nominee.
9. To engage in and maintain personal and professional development, scholarly activity, CPD, and professional practice.
10. To participate in recruitment and selection activities.
11. To undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Head of Department or nominee.
12. To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job; participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.
13. To take steps to ensure and enhance personal health, safety, and well-being and that of other staff and students.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
* Up to date knowledge, experience and expertise in Diagnostic Radiography education.
* Evidence of teaching in practice and / or Higher Education.
* Experience of using technology creatively and appropriately to enhance students learning experiences.
* Evidence of on-going continuous professional development in Diagnostic Radiography.
Desirable
* Extensive experience of course leadership and development.
* Experience of inter-professional practice and / or education.
* Experience of clinical skills teaching and simulation for Diagnostic Radiography.
Knowledge and Skills Essential
* Evidence of effective team-working and interpersonal skills.
* Effective organisation and prioritisation skills.
* Ability to communicate confidently and clearly, both orally and in writing.
* Ability and commitment to supervising student research projects.
Qualifications Essential
* Active HCPC registration.
* A Masters degree in Diagnostic Radiography or a relevant subject area.
Desirable
* Teaching qualification or HEA Fellowship.
* Doctorate in a relevant subject.
