HMP Doncaster is a Category B local resettlement prison, operated by Serco, housing up to 1,145 male prisoners, including 200 young offenders aged 18-20. As a resettlement prison, we work closely with prisoners—especially those serving less than 12 months—to provide them with the skills, support, and opportunities needed to reintegrate into society. Most of our population comes from Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham, and Barnsley, with young offenders also arriving from West Yorkshire. What You’ll Do In this critical role, you'll be at the heart of prison security, identifying potential threats and ensuring that intelligence is gathered, analysed, and acted upon effectively. Your responsibilities will include: Recording and analysing intelligence reports to identify risks Managing and storing security-related evidence and documentation Liaising with law enforcement, internal teams, and other prisons Monitoring security data to detect emerging trends and threats Supporting investigations and reporting incidents to the police Processing security vetting for job applications and prison visitors What We’re Looking For Strong administrative and organisational skills Experience in reporting and/or risk management Good IT skills (experience with PNOMIS or CMS is a bonus, but training is provided) Excellent communication and attention to detail A proactive and analytical mindset Previous experience in a security or prison environment is desirable but not essential Why Serco A place you can make an impact - The nature of our business means you will do interesting work that matters – delivering essential services that touch people’s lives.
