At Eminox UK our site, now seeks to recruit a Principal Design Engineer.
The Principal Design Engineer provides leadership and management to the Design and CAD functions, ensuring the development team are equipped with the appropriate skills and resources required to deliver both internal and external projects. Responsibilities include regular engagement with the Eminox engineering team located in India as well as ensuring the appropriate skills and resource levels to support the UK development team, based at Gainsborough are both developed and maintained.
Manage and allocate the specialist activities within the development engineering group, including CAE (CFD, NVH and FEA), NVH.
Ensure engineering designs are delivered within agreed cost, quality, and timescales
Provide leadership to both the development engineering team and to support the wider engineering function
Responsibility for product design and development – from concept to manufacture and series production in line with the NPI, APQP processes, IATF and TS16949
Accountability for design content delivery, BoM management, configuration management and quality within the Design Team
Key stakeholder in managing Engineering Change Control for the business
Define customisation/configuration of the design PDM system and support integration with the organisational ERP system to meet business requirements
Develop and maintain training plans to bridge skill gaps among the resources
Management of suppliers for engineering outsourcing
Support the development of product and technology, strategies and roadmaps
Develop and maintain the companies design standards
Drive continuous product and process improvement activity in the engineering development team
About you:
Manage a team of engineers to deliver multiple projects on time and within budget, however you may be a talented Senior Engineer wishing to take a step into first line management of a small team of dedicated and professional engineers. Able to mentor junior team members effectively
A background with design engineering and is an expert in the execution of DFMEA & PFMEA
Strong understanding of design for manufacture and assembly and analyse technical drawings.
Ability to create technical documentation and display good presentation skills
Demonstrated application of engineering and scientific principles
Demonstrated problem solving skills and techniques
Ability to work effectively within teams and liaise across functions
Application of continuous improvement mentality to both product and process
Familiar with aftertreatment fundamentals would be advantageous
Strong understanding of CFD, FEA & NVH fundamentals
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
This role is located at our Gainsborough site, please ensure that you have the right to work in the UK and you can commute daily to this location.
