QUALITY & COMPLIANCE MANAGER - WEST YORKSHIRE

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:45am - 5pm / Friday 8:45am - 4:30pm
My client is a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging providing an award-winning service to their clients in the food & beverage, retail, commercial, homecare & personal care sectors throughout the UK.
They are looking to recruit a Quality & Compliance Manager to join their team. The chosen candidate will have a strong focus on BRC, ISO and HACCP standards.
As Compliance Manager, you will need to be highly diligent, with excellent attention to detail. This is an important position and you will need to be highly conscientious and responsible. My client is open to candidates in other areas of packaging/manufacturing providing they have BRC/ISO Auditing experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage BRC and ISO accreditation requirements - ensure compliance to both standards.
2. Be responsible for the site's Quality Management System - improve, maintain, review and update.
3. Be the HARA Team Leader and manage the site HARA team.
4. Manage the site HARA plan - improve, review, maintain, update.
5. Management of the internal audit process, ensure audits are scheduled and completed on time.
6. Ensuring nonconformances raised during internal and external audits are logged, managed, actioned, closed and action effectiveness is monitored.
7. Prepare information for quality meetings.
8. Prepare for the senior management review meeting - pull departmental reports together, arrange the meeting, present the reports presentation to the team.
9. Manage the supplier approval and performance monitoring process.
10. Manage the calibration schedule, ensure equipment is calibrated when required.
11. Write, review and update site policies and management procedures.
12. Be responsible for control of records and documents.
13. Prepare for and present compliance during customer quality reviews.
14. Jointly prepare staff briefings for quality and compliance.
15. Manage the information to communicate on the quality notice board.
16. Assure site hygiene.
17. Crisis management team lead, arrange mock withdrawals and traceability exercises when due.
18. Report compliance updates and issues during daily meetings.
This position includes having the Quality & Technical Coordinator as a direct report.
Key Areas of Focus:
1. Promote the quality objectives of the business to ensure that they are clearly understood at all levels of RM/RME.
2. Ensure product safety and quality through the company HARA plan.
3. Management of the company Quality Management System, ensuring compliance to its requirements.
4. Improve quality and product through implementation of preventative actions following internal audit nonconformances.
5. Management of ISO9001 and BRC systems.
6. Increase focus on quality at RMESkills.
Skills, Capabilities and Candidate Attributes:
1. The Compliance Manager should have a background in quality and regulatory compliance - experience in the field is essential.
2. A strong ability to influence and articulate messages.
3. Excellent Communication skills - both written and verbal.
4. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a busy and varied workload.
5. Problem solver and Proactive thinker.
6. Willingness to learn and a strong desire to develop and grow within the organisation.
