This role is vital in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of our billing and metering functions, while driving improvements in industry data management and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
The Industry Operations & Billing Manager will oversee key operational areas, including billing accuracy, metering management, and regulatory compliance. This position also plays a critical role in leading a high performing team, managing cross functional collaborations, and representing the company in industry-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities
Metering Management
1. Metering Processes: Oversee and ensure the smooth operation of gas and electricity metering activities, including:
1. Agent Appointments (MOPs, DCs, etc.)
2. Meter installations, exchanges, and removals
3. Fault resolution for metering equipment
4. Exception management and data quality monitoring
2. Read Disputes: Manage and resolve read disputes, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data integrity.
3. Smart Metering Support: Oversee SMETS processes, including supplier change management, firmware updates, and ADT’s.
Billing Oversight
1. Ensure the accuracy of all billing processes, resolving discrepancies and managing exceptions to ensure smooth and timely billing cycles.
2. Monitor and validate billing data for completeness and accuracy.
3. Support the resolution of customer queries related to bills, metering data, and regulatory standards.
Team Leadership and Development
1. Manage and mentor a team of analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
2. Allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines and deliver on operational goals.
3. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team expertise in metering and billing processes.
Data Management and Reconciliation
1. Perform detailed analysis of metering and billing data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
2. Support industry-wide projects, including data cleanses and transitions (e.g., Market-Wide Half Hourly Settlement).
3. Assist with RTS meter transition and advanced metering integration.
Process and Compliance Improvements
1. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance metering and billing processes, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory standards.
2. Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance the customer experience.
Customer Support and Query Resolution
1. Serve as a point of escalation for complex customer and industry-related issues.
2. Provide clear, timely updates and solutions for metering and billing queries, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
1. Work closely with other departments, including Credit Control, Settlements, and Customer Services, to address interdependent processes and shared objectives.
2. Represent the team in internal and industry project meetings, driving positive outcomes for UGP.
Adaptability to Change
1. Stay informed of industry developments, adapting processes to meet new regulatory and operational requirements.

Experience and Knowledge
1. Extensive experience in energy operations, with a strong focus on settlements, data management, or metering.
2. In-depth understanding of the MHHS framework and its implications for suppliers and industry stakeholders.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage regulatory projects and ensure compliance.
